Upon his exit from Sepulturain late 1996, singer/guitarist/songwriter Max Cavaleraalmost immediately set out to form his next musical endeavor, the band described as one of the few bands both heavy and globally aware, Soulfly. Besides leaving one of the most popular thrash metal bands in the world, which he co-founded in the early '80s, he also had to deal with the unsolved murder of his stepson, as well as best friend, Dana Wells. Using music as therapy to overcome his depression, Cavalera put together a band that included (ex- Thorn, Nausea, Crisis, Medication, and Shelter) on drums, Jackson Bandeira on second guitar (ex- Chico Scienceand current Nacao Zumbi), while former Sepultura lightman Marcelo Dias (ex- The Mist, XXX, Slaughter, and Mayhem) rounded out the quartet on bass. Their self-titled debut album was released in the spring of 1998. After the release of that album Jackson left the band to be replaced by Logan Mader(ex- Machine Head) who continued to tour with Soulfly.

Enterfaith Lyrics

Soulfly

Now
Frustration turning, turning around
Stumping the feet, moving the ground
All the barriers unbound
Unexplainded, it can't be found
Now
Motivation comes from beyond
Purity like the unborn
Riding the storms
The storms
Enterfaith
Deeper and deeper in evert way
Enterfaith
Penetrates the wound again
Enterfaith
Deep and deeper everyday
Enterfaith
Penetrates the wound again
Now
It's not what you see, it's what you feel
You can not explain, but it's so real
This is our fate, no one can kill
From birth, this has been sealed
Now
Forever and ever without an end
Follow your heart, never pretend
The last will be first, it has been said
So I say
Faith on and on
Faith to carry on
Faith no transgression
Faith is a weapon
Faith is a weapon
